Summer on Lake Jocassee
Life on Lake Jocassee in Upstate South Carolina during summer is hard to beat! Come experience the ‘Secret Garden’ featured in National Geographic in 2013 as one of the top 50 ‘Secret’ destinations in the world, these crystal clear, and pristine waters offer the best of what summer escapes have to offer.
These photos of watery fun in the sun were taken in 2015 and as you can see, when the heat is on, being in Upstate South Carolina on Lake Jocassee (or her nearby sister Lake Keowee) is an ideal place to cool off! The photos seen here are from Pontoon Lake Tours provided by Stephanie Couch at Jocassee Keowee Rentals. Stephanie has lived and worked on Lake Jocassee for the past 26 years and hosts guided boat tours as well as pontoon rentals. What an amazing job!
The Upcountry offers far more than swimming and boating, however. The lake is fully stocked with a variety of trout, bass and other game fish, and there are a number of fabulous waterfalls that can only be reached by boat.
There are also hiking trails, campgrounds, scenic outlooks such as Jumping Off Rock, and the northern portion of the lake reaches into North Carolina in Jocassee Gorges State Park. Did I mention the wildlife? Eagles, Falcons, Loons, an occasional bear… what are you waiting for? Contact Stephanie today!
